General Objective:

• To understand the workflow for research related to acoustic bird monitoring.

 

Specific Objectives:

• To create spectrograms and oscillograms using Audacity, R, and RStudio from active recordings.

• To introduce the use of software for semi-automatic bird detection and identification in passive recordings.

Syllabus:

Introduction to acoustic bird monitoring (Passive and active recordings).

Basic audio editing in Audacity.

Creation of sound banks (Spectrograms and oscillograms with RStudio).

Considerations for installing passive recorders.

Workflow in BirdNet.

Tools for recording processing (Arbimon, Kaleidoscope).

Examples of studies with acoustic monitoring.
